Learning From Independent Jewish Afterschool

You’re invited! Come see the best educators in the Independent Jewish Afterschool world offer the best practices they have developed for distance learning.

We’re all preparing for some or all of our learning to be online in the coming year. But what does it mean to differentiate instruction online? How do we prioritize our learners’ social and emotional learning? How do we nurture the professionals on our team when we’re never in the same room?

August 4-6 from 1pm-4pm Eastern/10am-1pm Pacific
August 4: Social-Emotional Learning
August 5: Differentiating Instruction
August 6: Experiential Education

We will be offering a registration fee on a sliding scale from $18-72. We hope everyone can contribute at a level that makes this experience accessible.

Each day’s schedule will include theory, modelling, practice, and reflection.

Sample Schedule
1pm: Underlying theory behind that day’s modelling
2pm: Modelling & Reflection: Experience what a distanced classroom could look like!
3pm: Try it on! Break up into small groups and develop a piece you can bring back to your own classroom and share with other participants for feedback.

Participants who attend all three days will be eligible to apply for 1:1 coaching with Beverly Socher-Lerner from Makom Community following the conference to support the implementation of your learning.
