2024 -2025 School’s Out Programs
High-Quality, Fun Camp Programming and Jewish Education
When schools are closed and parents need to be at work, Makom Community is here with FUN camp programming and learning for kids. All of our camp days run from 8:30AM – 4PM and are complete with outside playtime, healthy snacks, and fabulous activities! Makom Community camp days are created for kiddos 4-10 years old. Our individual camp days throughout the school year are $99. Please note that prices increase for camp days a week prior to their start date.
Upcoming School’s Out Camps:
Upcoming Camp Themes:
- 5 Senses Presidents’ Day Camp: Monday, February 17 Calling all campers with bodies! Have you ever wondered how and why you experience the world around you the way that you do? At School’s Out Camp on Monday, February 17th, campers will dig deep into how we experience the world around us (and especially our Jewish communities) through all five senses – sight, smell, taste, hearing, and touch. We’ll learn more about how our senses work, and then practice using them through listening to Jewish music, crafting, taste-testing all kinds of yummy food, and more! We hope to see you there!
- Bug Camp: Monday, June 16-Friday, June 20 Beetles, bumblebees, and butterflies – oh my! Kick off your summer with us by digging into the wide, wild world of bugs. What are they, where do they live, and what’s so Jewish about them? From the Franklin Institute to the Philadelphia Zoo to our very own neighborhood playground, campers will spend the week learning about the creepy, crawly creatures that are all around us, and what an important role they play in our lives!
- Time Travel through Philadelphia: Monday, August 25-Friday, August 29 (subject to change based on SDP calendar): Calling all historians, explorers, and time-travel experts to embark on an end-of-summer adventure! Makom campers will build their own time machines and use them to travel to different moments throughout time and space in our very own city, including field trips to Old City’s Story Benches and the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History. Campers will further investigate the ways that our city has forever shaped the history of our country, paying particular attention to the roles that Jewish communities throughout history have played in both Philadelphia’s and America’s stories.
