Self Confidence

Genesis 12:1

God said to Avram, “Go forth from your native land and from your father’s house to the land that I will show you.”

We lean into the natural confidence that children and adults hold. We build their sense of efficacy – their belief that they are capable of achieving a task by doing and by asking for help. Like Abraham starting on his journey, each of us has a path we are on, with the capacity to support members of our community and receive support from them as well.

Jewish Placemaking Educators set students up to do for themselves rather than do for students – to help them expand their self-confidence and give them explicit permission as they grow older to participate in and build the Jewish communities they need.
