We are so excited about our winter break camp days! Your children can have amazing adventures at Makom Community, when you need to be at work on 12/29, 12/30, and 1/2. We have some very exciting plans for each of these camp days, and some feedback from you will help us determine which camp will take place on which date. Pick up and drop off for all camps will be at Makom Community (2125 Chestnut Street). After you hear about these exciting plans, please let us know which dates you are interested in sending kids to Makom Community, and which camps your children would be most excited about. We’ll take your feedback into account as we finalize our plans. You can expect to hear back from us with more details and registration information by Monday, December 1st. We’ll also have half-day camps on all FOUR half-days in December: 12/3, 12/4, 12/5, and 12/10.
Chocolate Camp
Join us for a visit to The Academy of Natural Sciences! We’ll explore Chocolate: The Exhibition. Kids will engage in fun, hands on activities while learning about the history, science, and culture behind chocolate. When we return to Makom Community we’ll have a chocolate-themed story time and bake all kinds of Jewish goodies to bring home and share with our families. We will have staffed walking groups from Makom Community to the museum. Our Chocolate Camp will take place from 8:30am-3:00pm, with options for extended care. Cost for this camp day is $40 + $9-$15 Museum admission fee. Having more campers will help us keep ticket costs down, so make sure to register early and bring a friend!
Theatre Camp
Join us for an exciting day where we’ll experience the magic of live theatre. We will travel to The Arden Theatre and see Beauty and the Beast. We will participate in a dramatic play workshop, and have a chance to meet and chat with actors from the show! Staff and campers will travel on SEPTA buses from Makom Community to the theatre. Our theatre camp will take place from 8:30am-6:00pm. Cost for this camp day is $45 + $20 for your child’s ticket to Beauty & The Beast.
Frozen Camp
Join us for a Frozen day. We will travel to the Penn Ice Rink for a skating lesson and free-skate time, play Frozen themed games, eat Frozen themed snacks, do Frozen themed crafts, and of course watch Frozen! We will have staffed walking groups from Makom Community to the ice skating rink. Our Frozen camp will take place from 8:30am-3:00pm, with options for extended care. Cost for this camp day is $40 + $10 for skating trip which includes a lesson, skate rentals, and free-skate time.
